The dance is fleeting. The image outlasts. In the performance, an abstract memory piece is created as a testimony to the movements. What remains is a costume painting. In the balancing act between the art genres, the physical experience takes center stage.
We enter the space of remembering. The production of movement and its reception play with memory and forgetting. Essential for this work is the change of perspective from the recipient of the performing arts to the viewer of the visual arts. To what extent is the enduring image occupied by the human presence and the form of expression of dancing?
Why all the kitsch and Dirndl trallala? Perhaps we can rely on memory, which feeds us with images of dance and pushes the interpretation further.
