Children in the tigercage was the band project of singer-songwriter Felix Nitsch. Alternative-rock and indie-folk influenced sound, carried by his nasal, sometimes deep sounding voice. Many of his songs address themes around mental health, letting go and depression. However, instead of bathing himself in sadness, Felix’s lyrics formulate possibilities for improvement and provide comfort. I gained live experience as a drummer and saxophone player with children in the tigercage for a year and participated in the release of the EP “the ninth level of Xibalba”.
